Photo 1 -2 The Lungomare Trieste in Salerno is one of the symbolic places of the city. A pedestrian promenade divided into several lanes and is over 2 km long, from the historic center to the tourist port of Piazza della Concordia.
Photo 3 - From the portal of the facade you enter a large atrium, the only Italian example, with that of the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, of a Romanesque Quadriportico. The Quadriportico (atrium) is surrounded by a colonnade (an ideal continuation of the internal naves on the outside) the columns are surmounted by decorated round arches. The loggia above has mullioned and five-lancet windows. The Bronze Door of the church, cast in Constantinople in 1099, also opens onto the atrium.
Photo 4 - Salerno has always had a port, the first news dates back to the 13th century, when Manfred of Sicily ordered its expansion. In the seventies the commercial port experienced great development. Outside the commercial area on the eastern part of the Port extends the Molo Manfredi with the maritime station designed by Zaha Hadid, testimony of contemporary architecture. The Port of Salerno is part of the cruise circuit of the most important and internationally renowned shipping companies.
Photo 5 - 6 Photos taken from Colle Bellara or Bellaria di Salerno is also called 'O bouquet of the Lady'. The name Mazzo Della Signora was also reported in maps and official documents. During the Second World War the hill was equipped with bunkers and turrets (still existing) and was the scene of fighting during the Salerno landings in September 1943. From Mount Bellara you can see the whole city, the Lattari Mountains, the Coast, the Sele Plain. Up to Punta Licosa.

Photo 7 - the mountain Stella is the highest point in the administrative territory of the municipality of Salerno 953 m above sea level. At the top there is the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Monte Stella. At its feet are the high hilly districts of Salerno. From an altitude of 953 m the view dominates the city, the Gulf of Salerno, the entire Sele plain and the Analfi Coast and part of the Cilentana Coast.
Photo 8 -- For those arriving in Salerno from the A3 motorway you can see the gateway to the Amalfi coast Vietri sul Mare. The town is dominated by the sixteenth-century dome of the Church of San Giovanni Battista, covered with hundreds of "shingles", fish-shaped majolica tiles in three colours: yellow, green and blue.
